Torch-on, bitumen, acrylic and cementitious systems for roofs, parapets, facades and exposed decks. The system follows a site assessment, not the other way around.
The most common reason waterproofing fails early is a mismatch between the system and the substrate. A torch-on bitumen membrane applied over a surface with significant thermal movement will crack at the laps within two or three wet seasons. Getting the specification right at the assessment stage is what separates a repair from a lasting fix.
Torch-on and cold-applied bitumen membranes for flat roofs with good thermal stability; acrylic and elastomeric coatings where movement tolerance is needed; cementitious systems for water-contact surfaces and wet areas; liquid-applied membranes for details and penetrations that sheet systems can't seal cleanly.
Flat and low-pitch roofs, parapets and cappings, roof gardens and planted decks, podium slabs, balconies, exposed concrete, facade joints and window reveals. Water ingress on any of these surfaces starts as a small problem and rarely stays one.
A site assessment comes first. The assessment confirms where the ingress is actually coming from, what the substrate is doing, and what drainage conditions exist. The scope and system are agreed in writing before any work starts, so there are no surprises at invoice stage. Most waterproofing work is carried out by rope access or boom lift with no requirement to clear the building.
Trustees who approve work on their building carry personal liability under OHSA Section 37 if the contractor they appoint is not properly qualified. Sky Rig is SANS 10333 compliant, and compliance documentation is ready before mobilisation, not assembled on request after the fact. Quotes are written in a format ready for trustee sign-off: fixed price, written scope, nothing added at invoice stage. Compliance certificates are discussed at quote stage. Water ingress rarely stays a small problem; addressing it this wet season is almost always less expensive than addressing it after the next one.
The system is specified to the substrate and exposure conditions rather than applied as a default. Common options include torch-on bitumen membranes, acrylic coatings, cementitious systems and liquid-applied membranes. Each has different performance profiles for water head, movement tolerance and UV exposure.
